I baked a batch of sugar heart cookies last week!
It used to be one of boyf's favourite cookie hehe..


The dough was super wrong that day and i kneaded it,
added more butter and flour blah blah all over again to get the right texture
for like one hour before i started shaping the cookies.. wahh, tiring!

Here's how it looked after it's done! roll the dough out,
fold both ends of the dough and shape it like a heart! (:





Isn't it cute? It's always worth the effort
when i see my baked goods looking perfectly yummy!






Here's the Recipe (Extracted from Joy of Making Cookies by Alex Goh)
Sugar Heart Pretzels:


(A)
160g Butter
70g Icing Sugar

(B)
1 Egg Yolk
1/4 tsp Vanilla Essence
Zest of 1 Lemon, finely grated

(C)
260g Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder


Some Coarse Sugar
(I used fine sugar, so both fine/coarse is alright!)

1. Mix (A) till well blended, then add in (B) and cream lightly till smooth
2. Add in (C) and mix till well-blended
3. Refrigerate for 60mins, take some of the dough out roll into strips.
4. Plait each strip in to heart shape
5. Brush surface of the plaited dough with water and sprinkle coarse sugar on top
6. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25mins

Tips:
if the consistency of the dough feels wrong after refrigerating,
like no matter how you roll the dough keep cracking etc,
add more butter and knead into the dough.
If it's too sticky, add more flour!






Kept one box for boyf, one small box for me..
and some for my dear friends...

Went to Milly's with nadnut to get our nails done!
Jacelyn was meeting her boyf so she didn't join us..

Nadnut chose the design for me, she said it's very juicy couture colour themed!
